The Royal Swedish Opera pays tribute to King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia on the occasion of their Golden Wedding Jubilee with a festive gala concert!
Daniel Johansson, Karl-Magnus Fredriksson, and Elin Rombo are the evening’s soloists as the celebrations begin with a wedding march, followed by beloved classics and favourites from the opera repertoire. The Royal Swedish Ballet will also take part with several dance performances, including excerpts from Alexander Ekman’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Together with the Royal Swedish Opera Chorus, the Royal Swedish Orchestra, and Royal Court Kapellmeister Alan Gilbert, the Royal Swedish Opera presents a golden celebration filled with music and surprises, directed by Artistic Director Tobias Theorell. The concert will also be broadcast live on television, allowing audiences across Sweden to join the celebrations.
