Having recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Opera from the Stockholm University of the Arts in June 2026, the young Swedish soprano Anna Hedendahl next looks forward to her major role debut as Mimì in La Bohème at Opera på Skäret this August. This will be followed by the 2026/27 season, where she joins the young artist programme at Folkoperan, where her engagements include the role of Mrs. Anderssen in Stephen Sondheim’s A Little Night Music.
During her studies, Anna Hedendahl has built a versatile operatic repertoire, portraying roles such as Angelica in Suor Angelica, Bianca in La Rondine, Dorabella in Così fan tutte, Helena in A Midsummer Night's Dream and Meg in Little Women.
Anna has made several notable appearances on the concert stage, performing with the Royal Academic Orchestra under the baton of Stefan Karpe, as well as the KTH Royal Institute of Technology Symphony Orchestra under Mats Janhagen, including a performance at the historic Stockholm City Hall.
Born and raised in Ulricehamn, Sweden, Anna Hedendahl is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards and scholarships. Her accolades include the Barbro Salén Scholarship (2026), the Joel Berglund Scholarship (2026), the Royal Swedish Academy of Music National Scholarship (2025), the Lisbeth Håkansson Scholarship (2025), the Gillis Bratt Scholarship (2025), and the Borås Symphony Orchestra Scholarship.
