Linus Börjesson in the title role in Tartuffe
Norrlandsoperan in Umeå, Sweden presents Tartuffe - an opera by American composer Kirke Mechem, based on Molière's play from 1664. The opera premiered in 1980 at the San Francisco Opera and the Scandinavian premiere takes place on April 2 on the stage of Norrlandsoperan, with further performances until April 23. This will be followed by a tour in northern Sweden in April and May when Tartuffe visits stages in Östersund, Luleå, Sundsvall, Härnösand and Skellefteå.
Tartuffe is staged by Danish opera director Anne Barslev and led by Fredrik Burstedt. In the title role as Tartuffe, we hear baritone Linus Börjesson.
