Peter Mattei sings Amfortas in Philippe Jordans farewell concert at the Opéra National de Paris

The Opéra National de Paris has announced a farewell concert in honor of music director Philippe Jordan on July 2, 2021. The new appointed music director at Opéra National de Paris is Gustavo Dudamel.

Jordan will conduct the Orchestre et Choeurs de l’Opéra National de Paris in Liszt’s “Faust” Symphony as well as three songs featuring tenor Andreas Schager. The tenor will then be joined by Peter Mattei, René Pape, and Ève-Maud Hubeaux in a performance of the third Act from Wagner’s Parsifal.

Peter Mattei will return to Opéra National de Paris later this season for a production of Le nozze di Figaro where he sings Il conte di Almaviva, led by Gustavo Dudamel.

Peter Mattei has this spring been a guest at the Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam where he has performed Mahler's Kindertotenlieder, led by Fabio Luisi. He has also visited the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra where he performed Mozart Arias led by Christoph Eschenbach, as well as a concert of Mahler songs together with the Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra.
