Sofie Asplund and Anders Lorentzson in Gösta Nyström's Herr Arnes penningar
The Göteborg Opera present Gösta Nyström's one act opera Herr Arnes penningar (Sir Arne’s Treasure), based on Selma Lagerlöf's novel. Herr Arnes penningar was composed in 1958 and was Nyström's only opera.
As Herr Arne himself, we hear Anders Lorentzson and Sofie Asplund appears in the role of the best friend and foster sister of the main character Elsalill.
Herr Arnes penningar is staged by Mattias Ermedahl and the Göteborg Orchestra and opera choir is led by Patrik Ringborg. The opening night is on February 19 with further performances until March 13.
