Voices from the Press

Min absoluta favorit var svenska sopranen Rebecka Wallroth. Hennes engagerade sätt att ta sig an Mozarts ”Ah scostati… Smanie implacabili” ur Così fan tutte imponerade stort i uttryck, liksom hennes tolkning av Händels ”Vani sono i lamenti…”, med en nästan frustande ilska. - Stenhammar International Competition 2022

My absolute favorite was the Swedish soprano Rebecka Wallroth. Her committed way of tackling Mozart's "Ah scostati... Smanie implacabili" from Così fan tutte impressed greatly in expression, as did her interpretation of Handel's "Vani sono i lamenti...", with an almost snorting anger. - Stenhammar International Competition 2022

- Debut Competition

The singers, who later did not win a prize, were also convincing on stage

The Swedish mezzo-soprano Rebecka Wallroth, the youngest in the field, also dared to do the most difficult: Sesto's aria "Parto, parto" from Mozart's "La Clemenza di Tito" and Octavian's "Wie du warst" from the "Rosenkavalier". Very confident, very clean, very present and very assertive - maybe trouser roles à la Fassbaender will become her specialty.
